Cozen O’Connor Attorneys Anna Wermuth and Jeremy Glenn Named to Crain’s 2023 Notable Leaders in Employment and Labor Law

Cozen O’Connor Labor & Employment lawyers Anna Wermuth and Jeremy Glenn have been named to the 2023 list of Notable Leaders in Employment and Labor Law by Crain’s Chicago Business magazine.

Anna Wermuth is Vice-Chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Labor & Employment Department where she has represented management in labor and employment litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board for over 24 years. She is also recognized for her work representing colleges and universities in collective bargaining and faculty litigation.  She is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Wermuth also currently serves on the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section’s Council and on the Advisory Committee for the Study of the Rules of Practice and Internal Operating Procedures of the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts of the Northern District of Illinois. She has also held numerous leadership positions in the ABA including serving as the past management co-vice chair for the Section’s National Trial Advocacy Competition and as the past-employer-vice-chair of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession Committee.

This marks the fifth time Wermuth has been recognized by Crain’s for her legal, civic, and charitable contributions.  In addition, she was recently named by Business Today as one of the 2023 “Top 10 Impactful Labor and Employment Lawyers in Illinois.”  She has also been named, in 2022 and 2021, as a “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers and is also recognized by SuperLawyers and Chambers USA.

Wermuth received her J.D. (1999) from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, an M.A. (1992) from Northwestern University, and a B.A. (1991) from DePaul University.

Jeremy Glenn is Cozen O’Connor’s Chicago Office Managing Partner, overseeing more than 50 attorneys and professional staff.  In 2023 he was elected to the firm’s Board of Directors and has served on its Executive Management Committee since 2021.

With over 25 years’ experience handling employment disputes and negotiations, Glenn has defended class action wage and hour overtime disputes, EEO class actions, and retaliatory discharge cases. He has tried dozens of labor arbitrations along with leading collective bargaining negotiations for employers and employee associations covering thousands of employees.

Glenn is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers (CLEL) and has served as co-chair of the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section’s federal labor standards committee, devoted to federal wage and hour laws. He received the 2020 and 2018 “Client Choice Awards” from Lexology and the International Law Office (ILO) in the Illinois Employment and Benefits Law field and is recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers. Glenn has been previously recognized by Crain’s in three consecutive years as one of their “Chicago’s Notable GenX Leaders in the Law.”  

Glenn received his J.D (1997) from The University of Iowa and a B.S.B.A. (1994) from Drake University.
