Driver files negligence lawsuit following rear-end collision in Streamwood

CHICAGO – A driver has filed a negligence lawsuit against another driver following a rear-end collision in Streamwood.

Plaintiff Nico W. Paoletti filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against defendant Diane M. Booth, citing allegations of negligence.

According to court documents, the complaint relates to an incident that occurred on December 29, 2021. Paoletti claims that she was driving westbound on Irving Park Road in Streamwood when her vehicle was suddenly struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Booth.

The complaint accuses Booth of various acts of negligence, including failing to decrease her vehicle's speed, maintain a proper lookout, and control her vehicle.

Paoletti claims to have sustained serious injuries during the accident and is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for pain, disability, disfigurement, inconvenience, loss of wages, and medical expenses, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney Brad J. Balke of Balke & Williams in Crystal Lake.
