Driver files injury lawsuit claiming negligence led to head-on collision in Chicago

CHICAGO – A driver has filed a negligence lawsuit against another motorist, claiming that he was injured following in a head-on collision in Chicago.

Plaintiff Christopher Quiroz filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against defendants David Lara and Marina Lara, citing allegations of negligence.

According to court documents, the complaint relates to a traffic incident that occurred on Dec. 13, 2021, near the intersection of 55th St. and Central Avenue in Chicago. Quiroz claims that he was heading eastbound on 55th St. when David Lara, who was allegedly acting as the duly authorized agent of Marina Lara and driving in the opposite direction, attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Central Ave. and struck Quiroz's vehicle head-on.

The complaint accuses the defendants of various acts of negligence, including failure to keep a proper lookout, failure to decrease speed, and failure to yield right-of-way.

Quiroz claims to have sustained serious injuries in the accident and is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper.
