In the spirit of the holidays, Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP has given back to the communities it serves through various volunteer and charity organizations.
First, attorneys and staff recently had the opportunity to connect with homeless and refugee families at Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Chicago (CCAC) during their daily meal service. They assisted with prepping and serving hot meals donated by generous, local Chicago restaurants to provide dinner to those less fortunate during this giving season.
Next, our St. Louis office sponsored and participated in the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis’ (BAMSL) Motion for Kids event. Motion for Kids matches up leaders of the St. Louis legal community with children in the foster care system or who have been impacted by the criminal justice system to provide presents from the child’s wish list.
Additionally, the firm’s Diversity Committee hosted a toy drive in partnership with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program to sponsor 15 underprivileged children. Through generous donations, the Diversity Committee was able to collect coats/jackets, shoes, books, dolls, action figures, playsets, and more.
Lastly, the Advancement of Women+ in Law Committee coordinated a clothing drive to benefit Dress for Success, a nonprofit that offers support and assistance to women with identifying and striving toward their professional and personal goals. The committee collected nearly 100 items of new or gently used clothing to donate to women in need.
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago (CCAC) assists anyone in need, regardless of their faith, gender, race, or ethnicity, serving nearly 400,000 individuals annually, many of whom live in the most underserved neighborhoods of Lake and Cook counties. They are one of the largest human service providers in the Chicago metropolitan region. Learn more about CCAC here.

The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) is an organization dedicated to empowering lawyers and other legal professionals in the metropolitan St. Louis region to be their best selves through community service, social networking and education.
