CHICAGO – A driver has filed a negligence lawsuit, claiming that he was severely injured near the intersection of W. Fulton Blvd. and N. Homan Ave. in Chicago when another driver ran a stop sign and crashed into him.

According to a lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court, on Dec. 28, 2021, the plaintiff, Robert Hendrix, was driving westbound near the intersection of W. Fulton Blvd. and N. Homan Ave. in Chicago. The lawsuit claims that the defendant, Murrell Johnson, driving a vehicle owned by another defendant, Isabella Jensen, was heading southbound on N. Homan Avenue near the same intersection, ran a stop sign, and collided with the plaintiff's vehicle.

Johnson is accused of several acts of negligence, including operating his vehicle at an unreasonable speed given the conditions, failing to reduce his speed at the stop sign, failing to provide proper warning, and failing to maintain a proper lookout. Jensen is accused of negligently loaning her vehicle to an incompetent driver.

Hendrix claims to have sustained severe and permanent injuries as a result of the collision. He is seeking a judgment exceeding $50,000 for pain, suffering, loss of normal life, loss of earnings, and medical costs, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney Octavio Duran of Duran Law Offices in Chicago.
