CHICAGO – A woman has filed a lawsuit claiming that her vehicle was struck by a driver who was attempting to make a left turn across traffic at the intersection of Harlem Ave. and Lake Street in the village of River Forest.

According to court documents filed in Cook County Circuit Court, on May 3, the plaintiff, Bianca Buczko was driving her vehicle southbound on Harlem Ave. near the intersection with Lake Street in River Forest, when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by the defendant, Tichina Beal. Beal was allegedly operating her vehicle northbound on Harlem Avenue near the same intersection when she attempted to make a left-hand turn across traffic and collided with Buczko's vehicle.

Beal is accused of several acts of negligence, including operating her vehicle at an excessive speed, failing to maintain sufficient lookout, not yielding right of way while making a left-hand turn, not equipping her vehicle with proper brakes, not giving audible warning of a collision, not stopping for imminent danger, not changing course to avoid striking another vehicle, and general carelessness.

Buczko claims to have sustained serious internal and external injuries, severe shock to her nervous system, along with bruises, contusions, and lacerations, as a result of Beal's negligence. Buczko is seeking damages of at least $30,000 for pain, suffering, physical impairment, loss of normal life, loss of earnings, property damage, and medical costs, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney David Lyszkowski of the Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman, LLC in Rosemont.
