CHICAGO — An individual has filed a lawsuit against another driver who allegedly rear-ended them at 9213 S. Western Avenue in Chicago.
According to a complaint filed in the Cook County Circuit Court, on March 24, 2022, plaintiff Rafig Asuhasna was driving northbound at 9213 S. Western Avenue in Chicago when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by defendant Julian Hernandez-Cornel. The vehicle allegedly belonged to co-defendant Mora Coronel.
Julian is accused of several acts of negligence, including failing to maintain a safe following distance, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, driving at an unreasonable speed, failing to keep their vehicle under control, failing to take evasive action, failing to provide a proper warning of an imminent collision, operating a vehicle while distracted, and failing to yield the right-of-way. Mora is named as a co-defendant as the co-owner of the vehicle that Julian was driving.
Asuhasna claims to have sustained bodily injuries as a result of the collision. The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for pain, suffering, mental anguish, disability, disfigurement, loss of normal life, and medical expenses, plus court costs.
