Alasauskas to Guest Lecture at Columbia College Chicago

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Associate Amanda J. Alasauskas will serve as a guest lecturer for Columbia College Chicago’s “Talent Management” class on March 6 in Chicago. The class is taught by musician and music business executive Kent Anderson.

Alasauskas will discuss various aspects of the relationship between performers and managers and the agreements between them. This speaking opportunity is offered by Lawyers for the Creative Arts (LCA), which provides similar lectures to various schools several times a month to inform students of LCA and its resources.

Alasauskas is serving her second term as LCA Associate Board President and Co-chair for the Education Committee and Mark J. McLoughlin is an Executive Board At Large Member and Events Committee Co-chair. Partners Michelle M. Wahl and Jeffrey S. Becker are also members of the Associate Board and have both previously served as Associate Board President.

Amanda J. Alasauskas focuses her practice on Entertainment and Media Law, Intellectual Property Litigation and Transactional Services, Commercial Litigation, and Business Disputes. Amanda has represented entities ranging from individuals and small businesses to international corporations in state and federal court in a wide range of commercial litigation, contractual, and business tort matters. Lawyers for the Creative Arts (LCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal assistance to artists and arts communities that are financially unable to retain legal counsel. LCA conducts workshops on not-for-profit incorporation and tax exemption, seminars on the law of music, publishing, film, and copyright, and mentors young attorneys.
