Tracy Robinson has filed a lawsuit against the City of Chicago, Julius Givens, and two unidentified individuals referred to as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2. The case was filed in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, under the Law Division, First District with the court case ID 2024L003694 on April 8, 2024. The plaintiff alleges malicious prosecution, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Robinson is represented by Anderson Law LLC. He claims that he was wrongfully prosecuted without probable cause which resulted in damages. The incident occurred in Cook County where Robinson currently resides. Julius Givens and John Doe 1 and 2 are identified as Chicago Police Officers who testified at Robinson's criminal trial and assisted the State of Illinois in indicting him.

The complaint states that on July 2, 2022, officers initiated a traffic stop on Robinson's vehicle due to expired tags. Upon approaching the vehicle, one officer ordered Robinson to step out and move to the rear of the vehicle. The officer then claimed that Robinson made an aggressive move towards him or attempted to flee which led to his arrest.

Robinson seeks redress for malicious prosecution, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress from all defendants named in this suit. He believes they are responsible for his wrongful prosecution without probable cause which caused significant emotional distress.
