In the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, a lawsuit was filed on 4/5/2024 (Case ID: 2024L003725) by plaintiff Jane Doe against The Endorphin Effect, Inc., Triumph Sports, and Humberto Medina. The case is about an alleged sexual assault that occurred during a therapeutic massage session at The Endorphin Effect establishment.

The plaintiff, represented by the law firm Levin & Perconti, alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Humberto Medina during a massage session on December 27, 2019. According to the complaint, Medina is an employee and licensed massage therapist at The Endorphin Effect. He also has a prior criminal conviction for reckless conduct involving bodily harm to a woman.

The complaint further details that Jane Doe paid for services inclusive of a therapeutic massage at The Endorphin Effect on December 27, 2019. Instead of providing the service as expected, Medina allegedly committed negligence, battery, assault and sexual assault upon Jane Doe.

Jane Doe seeks judgment against the defendants for their failure to prevent this incident despite having policies prohibiting such behavior. She alleges that sexual abuse by massage therapists was rampant in the industry prior to her assault in December 2019. The plaintiff demands compensation for damages suffered due to this incident.
