Pedro Aponte was driving northbound on Interstate 294 with his son Angelo securely fastened in a child safety seat when they encountered Trooper Kevin Bradley. Despite not displaying any suspicious or erratic driving behavior, Bradley followed Aponte closely for approximately seventeen minutes before executing a traffic stop.
Aponte and Diaz are seeking damages against the defendants for acts committed under color of law which they claim deprived them of their rights secured by the Constitution and laws of the United States. They are also seeking declaratory and injunctive relief to enforce their constitutional rights.
