Formic Technologies, Inc has filed a lawsuit against Raumak North America, Inc in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The case, with ID 1:24-cv-03343, was filed on April 25, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant failed to meet the terms of a contract for the design and installation of an automation system.

Formic Technologies acts as a robotics intermediary, contracting with robotics system integration companies to assemble and install robotics automation systems. In this case, Formic had entered into a contract with Raumak for the design and installation of an automation system for one of Formic’s end user customers. Despite Formic's adherence to the contracts and payment schedule, Raumak allegedly failed to meet its contractual obligations.

The automation system consisted of two fiber feeding systems or “hoppers,” two case packers, one palletizer, and two automatic labelers. However, Raumak is accused of delivering non-conforming goods and failing to adhere to the delivery schedule.

Formic is seeking judgment against Raumak for breach of contract and damages exceeding $75,000. The court has jurisdiction over this action pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1332(a)(1) as the parties are citizens of different states and the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000.
