In the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, Norma Colin has filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart Associates, Inc., doing business as Sam's Club. The case, identified as 1:24-cv-03229, was filed on April 23, 2024.

Colin alleges that she experienced violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), and the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act. She also claims retaliatory discharge. Represented by her counsel, Colin lodged a charge of employment discrimination based on sex and disability with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) before filing this lawsuit.

The plaintiff seeks redress for these alleged violations and retaliation. Colin claims to have suffered significant ligament damage in her knees, arm, and neck which qualifies as a disability under ADA. She also alleges that she was physically abused by her direct supervisor and sexually harassed by a co-worker at Sam's Club where she was employed.
