Anthony Lindsey has filed a lawsuit against the City of Chicago in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. The case, identified as 24-cv-3483, was lodged on April 30, 2024. The plaintiff is represented by Cass Thomas Casper from Disparti Law Group, P.A.

Lindsey alleges that he was wrongfully terminated after returning from Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave to care for his newborn child. He initially filed a complaint for FMLA retaliation against the city on June 11, 2021. At that time, he was working as an Assistant City Treasurer/Community Affairs Manager with the Office of the City Treasurer.

The first lawsuit ended in a settlement agreement on August 4, 2022. Lindsey then started working as an Assistant Commissioner for the Neighborhood Business Development Centers Program within the City of Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) on May 31, 2023.

Lindsey is seeking justice for his alleged wrongful termination and damages incurred due to this action. He claims that he performed his duties satisfactorily and received consistent praise from his superiors during his employment with BACP.
