Robert Harwig, individually and on behalf of others similarly situated, has filed a class action lawsuit against MV Transportation, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The case, bearing the ID 1:24-cv-03557, was filed on May 1st, 2024.

Harwig alleges that MV Transportation unlawfully collected, stored, and disclosed his and other employees' biometric data. The plaintiff worked at the company's facility within the five years preceding the filing of this complaint and had his biometric information processed via a fingerprint scan as part of timekeeping and payroll procedures. This data collection was mandatory for all employees to receive compensation.

The plaintiff seeks redress for MV Transportation's alleged unlawful handling of sensitive biometric identifiers and information. He argues that these practices expose employees to serious privacy risks, including identity theft and unauthorized tracking.
