Alex Williamson, represented by The Law Offices of Chicago-Kent College of Law, has filed a lawsuit against LSC Communications LLC in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The case ID is 1:24-cv-03455 and was filed on April 30, 2024. The lawsuit seeks recovery of disability benefits claimed to be due under the LSC Group Benefits Plan.

Williamson was employed as a Strategic Services Coordinator at LSC Communications LLC until February 4, 2023. He was a participant in the company's benefit plan which included short-term disability (STD) benefits. In January 2023, Williamson began experiencing severe head pain and an incurable sensation of rocking and swaying which led to his inability to work from February 4, 2023.

He underwent multiple MRI scans revealing several concerning areas including demyelinating disease and minimal encephalomalacia in the right frontal lobe. Following his cessation from work, he applied for and was approved by The Hartford, the Third-Party Administrator/Claims Administrator of the STD benefit program, to receive STD benefits under the Plan.

The plaintiff is seeking payment of short-term disability benefits, compounding prejudgment interest on all benefits that have accrued prior to the date of judgment, and statutory attorneys’ fees and costs.
