Nancy Quinn has filed a lawsuit against Select Rehabilitation LLC in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, under case number 1:24-cv-03666 on May 6, 2024. The suit alleges violations of the Anti-Retaliation Provision of the Federal False Claims Act and the Illinois Whistleblower Act. Quinn accuses Select Rehabilitation of unlawful retaliation following her exposure of fraudulent billing practices within the company.

While serving as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and Program Director at Select Rehabilitation, Quinn discovered and reported fraudulent billing activities. The company allegedly responded by demoting her, reassigning her to a new location, and ultimately terminating her employment. The court document does not provide specific details about the damages incurred by Quinn or the exact cost associated with these damages.

Quinn is seeking recovery for damages and civil penalties pursuant to 31 U.S.C. §3730 of the Federal False Claims Act and 740 ILCS 174 of the Illinois Whistleblower Act. She is claiming an amount greater than $75,000 for her claim.
