Lisa Belmer has filed a lawsuit against Menard, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, under the case ID 1:24-cv-03841 on May 10, 2024. The suit is an action for damages exceeding seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000).
Represented by Law Office of Daniel E Goodman LLC., Belmer alleges that she was injured in a retail store owned and operated by Menard, Inc., located at or near 2333 South Cicero Avenue in the Town of Cicero, County of Cook, State of Illinois. On August 9, 2017, she slipped and fell on liquid and/or a foreign substance that was on the store floor.
The plaintiff argues that Menard, Inc., individually and through its agents and employees, allowed the premises to remain in a dangerous condition by allowing liquid and/or a foreign substance to accumulate on the main store floor. She also claims that Menard had a policy regarding inspection for the floor area within all main floors inside the store but failed to follow it.
Belmer is seeking judgment for her severe and permanent injuries sustained as a direct result of Menard's alleged negligence. She asserts that these injuries have hindered her from attending to her usual duties and affairs of life and resulted in loss of value.
