Amanda Jones has filed a lawsuit against Favorite Healthcare Staffing, LLC and the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) operating as Jack Mabley Developmental Center. The case, registered under the ID 3:24-cv-50175, was filed on May 9, 2024, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Jones alleges that she was jointly employed by both defendants as a Registered Nurse from June 26 to September 8, 2023. During this period, she claims to have been subjected to different terms and conditions of employment than others not within her protected class.

The plaintiff argues that Favorite Healthcare Staffing maintained control and supervision over her job placements and opportunities while Jack Mabley Developmental Center exercised significant control over her daily tasks and responsibilities. Both defendants are accused of having at least fifteen employees and being engaged in an industry affecting commerce under Title VII.

Jones is seeking redress for violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. She had previously filed charges of discrimination against both defendants with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and received Notices of Right to Sue.
