Karl Moore has filed a lawsuit against Guiding Light Academy, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois under case ID 1:24-cv-03902 on May 14, 2024. The suit alleges age and disability discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Moore was employed as a Paraprofessional from March 6, 2023, until his termination on December 1, 2023. Represented by attorneys Nathan C. Volheim and Sophia K. Steere of Sulaiman Law Group Ltd., Moore claims he faced daily age-based harassment from colleagues and was denied reasonable accommodations for his diabetes and kidney failure despite providing medical documentation.

The plaintiff seeks back pay, front pay, compensatory and punitive damages, loss of benefits, attorney's fees, costs, and any other relief deemed just by the court.
