Andrew Stout has filed a lawsuit against Bolt Electrical LLC and its owner, Geovanni Rodriguez, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (Case No: 1:24-cv-04046) on May 16, 2024. The lawsuit alleges violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Illinois Minimum Wage Law (IMWL), and Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act (IWPCA) due to the defendants' failure to pay earned wages, minimum wage, and final compensation.

According to the complaint filed by Stout's attorney, Mohammed O. Badwan of Sulaiman Law Group, Ltd., Stout was employed as a Solar Installer from January 2, 2024, until February 8, 2024. Despite working up to 40 hours per week at an hourly rate of $27.00, Stout claims he was not paid any wages during his employment period. After repeatedly demanding his wages from Rodriguez personally and receiving assurances that a check would be mailed—which never arrived—Stout's employment was terminated on February 8, 2024.

Stout asserts that he is owed no less than $1,863.00 for approximately 69 hours of work performed between January and February 2024. He claims that the defendants' actions have caused him unpaid wages, loss of income, mental anguish, emotional distress, financial distress, and loss of enjoyment of life.

In his complaint, Stout seeks judgment in his favor for violations of the FLSA, IMWL, and IWPCA. He requests an award for unpaid wages with statutory penalties and reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.
