A class action lawsuit has been filed against Liberty Media Corporation and Formula One Digital Media Limited, operators of the popular Formula One racing streaming service.

The lawsuit, brought by plaintiff Sergio Gutierrez on behalf of similarly situated individuals, alleges that the companies improperly exposed subscribers' personal identifying information (PII) without their consent.

The complaint accuses the defendants of violating the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) by disclosing subscribers' video viewing history to third-party advertisers through sophisticated tracking technologies like Meta Pixel.

This disclosure was allegedly done without obtaining informed, written consent from the subscribers. The case is filed in Cook County Circuit Court.
