Neal Gerber Eisenberg is proud to announce that it has been named to Vault's Top 150 Under 150, a list of leading small and midsize law firms with 150 lawyers or fewer. Additionally, the firm ranked third amongst the best midsize law firms in Chicago and first amongst the best midsize law firms for our pro bono commitment.

Vault also ranked midsize law firms in a dozen quality-of-life categories, with NGE ranking in each category. NGE is ranked in the top 10 for its Wellness Initiatives and Formal Training and listed in the top 20 for Diversity, Quality of Work, Informal Training, Mentoring & Sponsorship and Transparency. Additionally, NGE was listed in the top 25 rankings for Best Law Firms to Work for and Hours.

Pro bono work is a cornerstone of NGE's mission, and all firm attorneys are encouraged to complete at least 50 hours of pro bono services per year. For the 14th straight year, in recognition of the firm's dedication to pro bono work, NGE was named to the Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Pro Bono Recognition Roster.

To determine its rankings, Vault asks associates to evaluate their firm on career development, job satisfaction and quality of life issues. For example, associate commentary about NGE included the following remarks, "The firm has a very pleasant, collegial environment. Associates are treated well at NGE and the firm really takes an interest in developing the careers of its associates. The firm encourages associates to attend conferences, partners are friendly and have an open-door policy, and case strategies are discussed with associates such that they can understand the purpose of their work. The firm has clear policies on promotion, performance reviews, and the like. Compensation is excellent in that the billable-hour requirements are very reasonable."

NGE also focuses on the wellness of attorneys and staff. In 2019, the firm signed the American Bar Association's Well-Being Pledge and launched its Being Well initiative for all NGE attorneys and staff. Since then, NGE has added several resources to assist attorneys and staff with their personal needs, from family planning and fertility complexities to care for aging loved ones.
