Reginald Farr has taken legal action against his former employer, alleging violations of labor laws that have left him unpaid for his work. On Oct. 28, Farr filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Titan Tactical Security, LLC. The lawsuit accuses the company of failing to pay wages and violating both federal and state labor laws.
The complaint outlines Farr's grievances under several statutes: the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Illinois Minimum Wage Law (IMWL), and the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act (IWPCA). Farr was employed as a security guard by Titan Tactical Security from July 5, 2024, to July 23, 2024. Despite fulfilling his duties during this period, which included maintaining safety and enforcing security protocols, he claims he was not compensated for his work. Specifically, Farr alleges that he is owed $1,207 in earned wages for hours worked during this time frame.
Farr's legal filing states that Titan Tactical Security systematically failed to pay him and other employees their due wages. He reported these issues to his employer on July 23, 2024. However, instead of addressing the complaint, Titan allegedly terminated Farr's employment two days before he was supposed to receive his paycheck. This abrupt termination came amidst rumors that other businesses had severed ties with Titan due to similar wage disputes.
Farr is requesting several forms of relief. He demands a judgment against Titan Tactical Security for its alleged violations of labor laws. Additionally, he seeks compensation for unpaid wages along with statutory penalties. Farr is also asking for reimbursement of reasonable attorney’s fees and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.
Representing Reginald Farr in this matter is Mohammed O. Badwan from Sulaiman Law Group Ltd., located in Lombard, Illinois. The case has been filed under Case No: 1:24-cv-11041 in front of judges at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
