World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR) selected Shook as Notable for the firm’s prowess in advising clients on trade secrets issues. The publication featured Partner Andrew S. Boutros in USA Trade Secrets Rankings 2024, a comprehensive guide showcasing the leading law firms and lawyers at the forefront of trade secrets law in the United States. Boutros was named Highly Recommended due to his “continuing craft in the trade secrets space.”

Shook's Intellectual Property Practice is led by Cory Fisher, Mike Gross and Trent Webb. Partner James DeVaney was noted as a “seasoned attorney with experience advising clients on trade secrets protection for digital, defensive publishing and open-source software.”

Boutros joined Shook in September taking on a leadership role with Government Investigations and White Collar Chairs Bill Corrigan and Patrick Oot. Boutros is a former federal prosecutor in the Financial Crimes and Special Prosecutions Section of the Chicago U.S. Attorney’s Office. He leads teams of attorneys in high-stakes trials, investigations, white collar matters, regulatory and securities enforcement disputes and complex litigations.

The firm has a long history of success representing national and multinational companies in acquiring lawyers with trade secrets experience and maintaining and protecting IP rights.
