A former employee has filed a lawsuit against a global business services company, alleging workplace discrimination and harassment. Eddie Meeks III, acting as his own attorney, filed the complaint on December 26, 2024, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Epiq Global Business Transformation Solutions LLC.

Eddie Meeks III claims that during his employment with Epiq Global Business Transformation Solutions LLC from July 2023 to December 2023, he was subjected to a hostile work environment based on sex discrimination. According to the complaint, Meeks was employed as a Hospitality Specialist Lead and reported directly to Lisa House at Foley and Lardner LLP. He alleges that he was the only male member of his team and faced repeated instances of sex-based discrimination and harassment by House. Despite making several complaints to Human Resources about this behavior in November 2023, no effective remedial action was taken by Epiq Global. Instead, Meeks states that he continued to endure an intimidating and bullying work environment until he felt compelled to resign on December 21, 2023.

Meeks' legal action accuses Epiq Global of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and Section 1981 by creating a hostile work environment based on sex discrimination and retaliation. The plaintiff asserts that despite performing his job duties satisfactorily, he was unjustly characterized as an "angry male" and received unwarranted disciplinary actions while non-male colleagues were not subjected to similar treatment for comparable work performance. The lawsuit further details how these discriminatory practices led to Meeks' constructive discharge from his position.

In seeking judgment from the court, Eddie Meeks III requests compensatory damages for lost wages and benefits, emotional distress damages, punitive damages where applicable under law, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest, reasonable court fees and costs, along with any other lawful relief deemed appropriate by the court.

The case is presided over by Judge Ellis with Magistrate Judge Kim also involved. The case ID is 1:24-cv-13222. As Eddie Meeks III is representing himself in this legal matter (Pro Se), there are no listed attorneys for either party in this document.
