The Committee is tasked with evaluating, developing, and recommending changes to the rules governing the practice of law in Illinois. This reappointment highlights Juan’s ongoing dedication and significant contributions to the legal field, reinforcing his role in shaping the practice of law in the state of Illinois.
The Supreme Court of Illinois, in addition to being the state’s highest Court, is responsible for the state’s trial courts, one appellate court with five districts, and several supporting units. General administrative and supervisory authority over the court system is vested in the Supreme Court. Several advisory bodies assist with this mission by making recommendations to the Court.Juan is a Partner in Benesch’s Healthcare+ Practice Group and Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee. He provides strategic counsel on healthcare regulatory and policy matters, advising hospitals, health systems, and other clients on compliance and regulatory requirements. Juan is a leading Certificate of Need attorney in Illinois, assisting with complex facility changes and investigations.Beyond his legal practice, Juan is deeply committed to community service. He serves as a board director and Vice-President of La Casa Norte, a Chicago-based organization that provides housing for children and families facing homelessness. He is also Chair Emeritus of the Latino Leadership Council and holds board positions with the Metropolitan Pier Exposition Authority, Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, HLAI Charities, and the We CAN Achieve Foundation. Juan’s dedication to social justice and education is evident through his active participation in various civic and professional organizations, making a significant impact on the community.
