Latasha Rials has filed a lawsuit against PRN Health Services, LLC, alleging racial discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The complaint was submitted on January 24, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. This legal action seeks to address alleged violations of civil rights laws by the defendant.

The case revolves around Latasha Rials' employment experience with PRN Health Services, where she worked as a nurse from August 2024 until her alleged constructive discharge in October 2024. Rials claims that during her tenure, she faced race-based discrimination and harassment that culminated in her being forced to leave her job. She reports incidents where racial slurs were used against her and asserts that no appropriate actions were taken by the management despite her complaints. According to the complaint, Rials was subjected to different terms and conditions of employment compared to non-African American colleagues and was placed in a hostile work environment due to her race.

One significant incident involved a Certified Nursing Assistant named Olivia allegedly using a racial slur in the workplace. Despite reporting this behavior to management, Rials claims no substantial investigation or corrective measures were undertaken. Instead, she was accused of being at fault for the incident. Furthermore, when she requested reassignment to avoid further racial hostility at work, it was denied, leading to what she describes as an effective constructive discharge.

Rials is seeking various forms of relief from the court including back pay with interest, compensatory and punitive damages, attorneys’ fees and costs, and any other relief deemed just by the court. Her legal representation is provided by Peyton M. Paschke from Sulaiman Law Group Ltd., who has filed this complaint under federal statutes such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 42 U.S.C §1981.

The case ID for this lawsuit is 1:25-cv-00817 and it will be presided over by judges from the Northern District of Illinois Eastern Division.
