A visually-impaired woman has taken legal action against a major nutritional supplement company, alleging its website is inaccessible to blind users. Leah Walker filed the complaint on February 24, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Foodscience, LLC. Walker claims that the company's website, Davincilabs.com, is not designed to be accessible to those who rely on screen-reading software, thereby violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Leah Walker, a resident of Cook County, Illinois, is legally blind and requires screen-reading software to navigate websites. She argues that Foodscience's failure to incorporate accessible technology into their website design discriminates against visually impaired individuals by denying them equal access to products and services offered online. The complaint highlights several barriers on Davincilabs.com that make it difficult for blind users to complete transactions independently. These include inadequate focus order, ambiguous link texts, and the necessity of using a mouse for navigation—an impossible task for those relying solely on keyboards and screen readers.

Walker attempted to purchase immune system supplements from Davincilabs.com but was unable due to these accessibility issues. "The lack of an accessible website means that blind people are excluded from experiencing transacting with Defendant’s website," she states in her complaint. Despite readily available technology that could make websites more inclusive—such as alternative text for images and keyboard navigability—Foodscience has not implemented these features.

Walker seeks a permanent injunction requiring Foodscience to modify its policies and practices so that its website becomes fully accessible to blind consumers. Additionally, she requests compensatory damages for herself and other class members who have faced similar discrimination. The lawsuit also demands punitive damages and attorneys' fees.

Representing Walker is David B. Reyes of Equal Access Law Group PLLC. The case is presided over by Judge [Name], under Case No.: 1:25-cv-1881.
