Fox Rothschild welcomes Ryan Connery to the Chicago office as counsel in the Taxation and Wealth Planning Department.
Connery provides strategic legal advice on taxation and wealth planning matters. He leverages his experience, which includes work for the national office of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, to help clients maximize their returns on business transactions and plan their financial future. He advises businesses and individuals in matters involving domestic and international taxation with an emphasis on cross-border transactions and restructurings, foreign direct investment, tax treaties and tax controversies.
Prior to joining Fox, Connery was with the Office of the Associate Chief Counsel (International) at the IRS, where he provided legal advice on international taxation topics with an emphasis on inbound taxation and income tax treaties. During his tenure, Connery provided subject matter knowledge on conduit financing transactions, portfolio debt investments, branch profits tax, shipping and transportation income, and the tonnage tax regime.
Connery is a Certified Public Accountant. He earned his LL.M. from Northwestern University School of Law, his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, his MSA from Loyola University Chicago and his B.S. from DePaul University.
