Global CFS, Inc., a freight transportation and storage company, has filed a lawsuit against ODW Global, Inc., accusing the California-based corporation of failing to pay for services rendered. The complaint was filed by Global CFS on March 20, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The defendant, ODW Global Inc., is alleged to owe a substantial sum for freight handling and storage services.

The legal dispute between these two companies began when ODW Global previously initiated legal action against Global CFS in the same court under case number 25 CV 01172. However, before Global CFS could file its counterclaim, ODW voluntarily dismissed their case. Now, Global CFS has taken legal action by filing this new complaint to recover costs incurred during their business transactions with ODW.

According to the complaint, Global CFS handled several shipments delivered by ODW on August 16 and August 22, 2023. These shipments were intended for U.S. Customs presentation and storage pending inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Unfortunately, due to non-conformity with U.S. Custom standards, CBP seized and destroyed these shipments between August 2023 and January 2025.

Despite this setback, invoices continued to accumulate for the storage and handling of these shipments. For instance, Master Airway Bill (MAWB) numbers 016-60924161 generated invoices totaling $83,506.38; MAWB number 016-60924135 resulted in invoices amounting to $81,503.52; and MAWB number 501-14673131 led to invoices totaling $70,797.36. In total, ODW is alleged to owe Global CFS $235,707.26.

Global CFS claims that despite repeated demands for payment and invoicing efforts over an extended period from August 2023 to January 2025, ODW has failed to settle this debt. As a result of this non-payment issue coupled with previous procedural history involving voluntary dismissal preventing counterclaims from being filed earlier on behalf of themselves against them - they are now seeking judgment favoring themselves along with additional compensation such as attorney's fees interest charges court costs which will be determined at trial if successful outcome achieved through litigation process pursued here today!
