Kettering Serves as Advisor for YMCA Youth & Government Delegation from the CAA

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP attorney Katherine M. Kettering served as an advisor this past weekend for the  YMCA Youth & Government delegation from the Chicago Academy for the Arts (CAA) at the Youth & Government 104th assembly in Springfield, Illinois.

Over the course of the program, CAA’s delegation engaged with the Illinois government hands-on. The culmination of their efforts was a three-day event at the Illinois Capitol and Supreme Court, where students presented and debated their bills from committee to the floors of the House and Senate.

Illinois YMCA Youth & Government program is designed to develop leadership skills in high school students and encourage civic engagement through direct participation in government proceedings.  Participants immerse themselves in all aspects of Illinois government by assuming roles of legislators, attorneys, executive officials, lobbyists, press members and more. Katherine M. Kettering combines her background in client service and project management with her passion for healthcare to assist in various firm practice groups, including medical malpractice, pharmaceuticals, and general trial practice.
