Aldridge Electric Inc. sued after worker falls from ladder

Kirschner

A man is suing over claims he fell from a ladder while working.

William Sharkey filed a lawsuit Nov. 5 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Aldridge Electric Inc., citing negligence.

The plaintiff alleges that on April 4, he sustained serious injuries when he fell during his course of work while descending a 14-foot ladder in a manhole at the intersection of Franklin and Van Buren streets in Chicago.

According to the complaint, prior to the accident, the defendant identified the ladder as dangerous and requiring replacement.

Sharkey claims the defendant was negligent for failing to remove and replace the ladder, failing to mark the ladder as dangerous, failing to communicate about the dangerous ladder and failing to follow safety protocol.

He is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and is being represented by Daniel S. Kirschner of Corboy & Demetrio P.C.
