A man is suing over claims he slipped and fell in his Chicago hotel room.
James Bourg filed a lawsuit Nov. 6 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Hyatt Corp., doing business as Park Hyatt Chicago, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Bourg sustained serious injuries on March 30, 2012, when he slipped and fell on a wet floor while staying at the defendant's hotel at 800 N. Michigan Ave. in Chicago.
Bourg claims his hotel room shower had a door to prevent water from flowing onto the bathroom floor, but that water leaked from the shower and into the guest room area, which caused causing the floor to become unreasonably slippery.
The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. He is being represented by John J. Piccione of Piccione, Keeley & Associates Ltd.
