A man is suing over claims his former tenant committed numerous harassing and malicious acts.
Harry Barnett filed a lawsuit Oct. 24 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Grant Baker, citing intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, abuse of process and malicious prosecution.
According to the complaint, Baker sublet a bedroom in Barnett's apartment on East Elm Street in Chicago and then broke their sublease agreement when he moved out on April 15, 2010.
Barnett claims in his suit that Baker then committed various acts of harassment against him, including vandalizing his car and attempting to poison his dog.
Barnett is seeking $100,000 in damages and is representing himself in the matter.
