Frank Shukstor filed suit Nov. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court on Nov. 6 against Fluor Constructors International Inc., BP Products North America Inc., BP America Inc. and Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.

Shukstor is suing over injuries he allegedly sustained in January 2010 at a work site in Hammond, Ind.

According to suit, Shukstor was employed as an ironworker by Superior Construction Co. and was performing work on a construction site at the BP refinery, where his company was hired by one of the defendants to perform certain jobs at the site.

While at the work site, Shukstor claims he tripped over a pipe flange cover that was covered by gravel and fell. He is accusing the defendants of negligence in failing to provide a safe working environment.

Shukstor seeks to hold the defendants liable for his injuries, as well as for medical expenses and lost wages. He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. He is being represented by the Chicago law firm Miroballi, Durkin and Rudin LLC.
