A woman is suing over claims she tripped and fell on cords while at Kiva Spa.
Grace Virgilio filed a lawsuit Nov. 8 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Spa Capital LLC, doing business as Kiva Spa, and Marshall Field's Chicago Inc., doing business as Macy's, citing negligence and premise liability.
The plaintiff alleges she sustained serious injuries on Sept. 18 when she tripped and fell on exposed electrical cords while on the defendant's premises at 111 N. State St. in Chicago. A
She claims the defendants created a dangerous condition, placed electrical cords in an exposed pathway, improperly and unsafely designed the area, failed to warn individuals about the cords and failed to inspect the area.
The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented by Bruno R. Marasso of Romanucci & Blandin LLC.
