A man is suing over claims he was struck in the face with a bottle while attempting to leave a bar.
Timothy Moore filed a lawsuit Dec. 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against James Moss and Nicole Smith, citing negligence and the state's dram shop act.
According to the complaint, James Moss owned a tavern known as Keynote Lounge at 1116 W. 63rd St. in Chicago, and employed Nicole Smith as a bartender. Moore claims he was a patron at Keynote Lounge on Aug. 25, when the defendants sold alcoholic beverages to Christine Thomas, resulting in her intoxication.
Moore claims Smith and Thomas began fighting with him and when he tried to leave the bar, he was struck in the face with a bottle, causing injuries.
He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by attorney Keith L. Young.
