The guardian of a disabled woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries while in the care of a nursing home.
The Office of the State Guardian, as plenary guardian of Stacy Edsall, filed a lawsuit Nov. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Warren Park Health and Living Center LLC, citing violation of the Nursing Home Care Act.
According to the complaint, Edsall was a resident at Warren Park Health and Living Center at 6700 N. Damen Ave in Chicago on Feb. 16 and suffered from various psychological and physical conditions requiring assistance to prevent falls.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide adequate and sufficient medical and personal care, which resulted in Edsall falling and sustaining injuries, including fractured ribs, a collapsed lung and scalp lacerations.
The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit and is represented in the case by attorney Ken Hoffman of Mitchell, Hoffman & Wolf LLC.
