Prairie States Enterprises sued for unpaid insurance claim

Prochnow

A Will County company is suing an insurance company, claiming it has failed to pay for medical services rendered to an insured patient.

Southwest Surgery Center LLC, doing business as Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, filed a lawsuit March 28 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Prairie States Enterprises Inc.

According to the complaint, Prairie States has not paid a claim for services Southwest Surgery performed on Aug. 1, 2011 on a patient it insured. Southwest Surgery claims it sought and received verification from the insurance company that the procedure would be covered before performing it.

Southwest Surgery Center is seeking damages plus interest. It is being represented in the case by attorneys Douglas L. Prochnow, John A. Roberts, Colin O'Donovan and Erin Brechtelsbauer of Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP.
