A driver is being sued by a the daughter of a woman who died after getting hit by a car while crossing the street.
Mary Jean Ward, as administrator of the Estate of Susan Perkins, filed a lawsuit May 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Raquel Freytes, citing negligence.
Ward claims her mother, Susan Perkins, was a pedestrian crossing Belmont Avenue in Chicago when she was struck by Freytes's Lexus. The suit alleges Freytes failed to keep a close lookout for pedestrians, was driving too fast and failed to warn Perkins by using the car's horn.
Ward is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Kent D. Sinson of Sinson Law Group.
