A soccer facility is suing two people and a soccer league after changes allgedly resulted in a non-payment of rental fees.
Grasshopper Indoor Soccer LLC filed a lawsuit May 19 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Jorge and Angel Marban and International Star League Inc., alleging breach of contract.
The lawsuit states the facility, at 4160-4170 Madison St. in Hillside, entered into a rental agreement with the Marbans and International Star League for exclusive use of two small soccer fields and two large soccer fields on a weekly basis between October 20 and April 13, for a designated price of $28,600.
The Marbans paid the deposit, but allegedly informed the facility just before the first rental day they would no longer be performing their duties under the contract. They transferred a portion of their obligation to Daniel Meza and another soccer league in November with the facility’s approval, the suit states.
The facility claims the defendants' breach of contract caused a significant financial injury.
The facility is suing for $55,240, plus court costs and attorneys’ fees. It is being represented by attorneys at Hesik-Prybylo.
