A woman is suing over claims she was injured after tripping on a sidewalk outside McCormick Place.

Ana Maria Thuss filed a lawsuit June 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) and the City of Chicago, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, Thuss was walking on a pedestrian walkway near McCormick Place on South Lakeshore Drive in Chicago on June 18, 2013, when she tripped over a height variance in the sidewalk, fell and sustained injuries.

She accuses the MPEA and city of failing to maintain the premises.

Thuss is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney David J. Gallagher of The Vrdolyak Law Group LLC in Chicago.
