A Chicago company that distributes cleaning chemicals is facing accusations that it accepted products from another company, but failed to pay for them.
Consolidated Chemical Works Ltd. filed suit May 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against PortionPac Chemical Corp. Inc., alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff company filled approximately 538 orders of cleaning chemicals between Oct. 2, 2010 and Jan. 1, 2014 for PortionPac to distribute to its customers.
Consolidated Chemical Works claims PortionPac only paid for a portion of those orders and has an outstanding balance of $613,493.93.
The suit alleges that by accepting the orders but not paying up in full, PortionPac has breached the contract made between the two companies.
The plaintiff is seeking the outstanding amount , plus interest that totals $141,533.93 and costs of the suit. It is being represented by Paula K. Jacobi and Yvette Mishev of Barnes & Thornburg LLP.
