Woman accuses property managers of negligence after alleged fall down stairs

A woman is suing a management company, property manager and bank after allegedly falling down a staircase while visiting a friend.

Marie Garcia filed a lawsuit May 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against AO Management LLC, property manager Jose Oliva and Marquette Bank, as trustee of Land Trust No. 19561, alleging negligence.

The lawsuit states Garcia was visiting a friend at 5636 W. 22nd Place in Cicero on May 16, 2012, she she fell after descending a defective staircase. She claims she sustained injuries and will continue to suffer.

Garcia is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented by James P. McHargue of the Law Offices of James P. McHargue.
