Crestwood nursing home hit with wrongful death suit

Henry

Crestwood Care Center is being sued over claims a resident died as a result of falling and developing bed sores.

Tracee Finley-Elliott, as administrator of the Estate of Quindolyn Tucker, filed a lawsuit June 2 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Symphony Crestwood LLC, doing business as Symphony of Crestwood, and Crestwood Care Centre LP, doing business as Crestwood Care Center, alleging negligence and wrongful death.

According to the suit, Tucker was a resident at the defendant's facility at 14255 S. Cicero Ave. in Crestwood on Aug. 8, 2012, when she suffered injuries. Finley-Elliott claims Tucker had a high risk for falls and was negligently monitored and cared for by the defendants, resulting her falling and fracturing her lower left leg.

She further alleges Tucker developed pressure ulcers on her buttocks, heels, ear, foot and sacrum as a result of the defendants' negligence, which contributed to her Aug. 1 death.

Finley-Elliott is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented by Chicago attorney Matthew K. Henry of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC.
