City of Chicago hit with suit over alleged fall on Winona Avenue sidewalk

A man is suing the city, alleging a broken sidewalk caused him to fall and sustain injuries.

Hugo Pena filed a lawsuit June 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago.

According to the complaint, Pena fell on a broken sidewalk on West Winona Avenue on June 11, 2013. He accuses the city of failing to maintain the sidewalk in a reasonably safe manner.

Pena is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Michael D. Spinak of Spinak & Babcock P.C. in Chicago.
