A mother is suing a Chicago property owner over allegations her daughter was injured while closing a window in their apartment.
Mediha Sadikovic, as mother and next friend of her minor child, filed suit June 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against Leonardo DiPasquale.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs reside in an apartment owned by DiPasquale at in Schiller Park. Sadikovic claims she told the defendant about problems with her windows on multiple occasions,but that he ignored them.
Sadikovic's daughter, the suit states, tried to close a window in their apartment on Jan. 3, when it shattered and caused her injury and emotional stress.
The defendant is accused of carelessly maintaining the premises, negligently failing to repair the window and allowing the window to remain in a dangerous condition.
Sadikovic is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs, and is being represented by Chicago attorney Ivo Tchernev of the Law Offices of Jacobson & Tchernev Ltd.
