A woman is suing over claims she fell on an icy parking lot in Hoffman Estates.
Ilda Carvajal filed suit June 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against American Community Management Inc., doing business as ACM Community Management, Barrington Square Condominium Association No. 5 and Style Construction Inc.
According to the complaint, Carvajal was walking across a parking lot owned by the defendants at 1984 Hancock Drive in Hoffman Estates on Feb. 25, 2013, when she slipped and fell on an unnatural accumulation of ice.
Carvajal claims she sustained internal and external permanent and severe injuries. She accuses the defendants of negligently maintaining the parking lot, carelessly failing to post a warning about the lot's condition, not repairing the defective parking lot pavement and failing to remove the unnatural accumulation of ice that developed.
She is seeking damages in excess of $30,000, plus costs, and is represented by Rosemont attorney Gary W. Klages of the Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman LLC.
