Dental assistant lodges sexual discrimination complaint against former employer

Scales

A dental assistant is suing her former employer, claiming she was fired after the birth of her child.

Kimberley Latour filed suit June 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against Olde Schaumburg Dental LLC.

According to the complaint, Latour worked for the defendant as a dental assistant from Aug. 15, 2005 until Sept. 30, 2010, following an extended period of time off after giving birth to her child.

She claims she was in good standing with the company prior to her pregnancy and accuses the defendant of discriminating against her because she is a woman.

Her suit seeks front pay, back pay, compensatory damages and costs. Latour is represented by attorney Joshua N. Karmel.
